Playtime

Think you know how long a second is? Give this a go.

For a lengthier (and infinitely less frustrating) challenge Auditorium is well worth half an hour of your time.

More or less…

Spotted this on the BBC Website yesterday:

And seemed to recall some conflicting advice from a few years ago, a brief search turned up this:

Browsing some of the related articles tells us:

Meat, Dairy and Multivitamins = Bad

Broccoli, Pomegranate Juice and Grape Seeds = Good

Exercise has turned up on both lists

All these things that I’ve done

Monday, January 26th, 2009

I was thinking about things I’ve done that I generally forget I’ve done most of the time and though I’ve never really read any of those ‘100 Things to do before you Die’ type lists I imagine these are the sort of things that appear on them:

  • Flown a helicopter
  • Hugged a koala
  • Eaten Sashimi
  • Snorkelled the Great Barrier Reef
  • Been to the White House
  • Seen the Shrine of the Three Kings
  • Written a String Quartet
  • Stood on top of the World Trade Center
  • Been to a Pogues gig
  • Seen a whale in the wild
  • Flown over the Grand Canyon
  • Been to Uluru
  • Driven a tank
  • Stood on Table Mountain
  • Sailed a yacht
  • Been to Niagara Falls
  • Taught myself to play guitar
  • Had a holiday on a barge
  • Seen Nelson Mandela’s cell on Robben Island

Things I wish were on my list:

  • Being a published author
  • Being able to do a backflip
  • Seeing the Northern Lights
  • Being fluent in Japanese
  • Seeing a wild tiger
  • Doing a skydive

Thing I doubt will ever be on my list:

  • Leaving my wallet in El Segundo
  • Watching C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate
  • Being able to moonwalk
