The Sounds of Interstellar
(via kottke)
Might be apocryphal but I like to think it’s true:
“Márquez told [Harvey] Weinstein that if he, and director Giuseppe Tornatore, wanted the rights to One Hundred Years of Solitude they were the men for the job. But there was one catch: ‘We must film the entire book, but only release one chapter – two minutes long – each year, for 100 years,’ Weinstein said.”

Adventure Awaits
This is how you do cinematic advertising:
This ad ran before Interstellar and it was ace. When’s the last time you remembered an ad you saw before the movie?
Winter Soldier VHS Trailer
The year is 2007. Crime is at an all time high and the law has a plan to wipe it out! CAPTAIN AMERICA (Chris Evans), a Vietnam vet who was given super strength by a military scientist, Abraham Erskine (Cillian Murphy) is now America’s new crime fighter. When he refuses to kill an innocent Senator he is back stabbed by the very people who made him! He’s out for revenge. If you’re going to make enemies, you better make sure it’s not America!
Really rather good! Makes me both want to rewatch Robocop (Clarence Boddicker is one of my favourite 80s character names) and Snowpiercer. Which still hasn’t been released in the UK. On DVD or in the cinema. Seriously. I can order French, Spanish, and Italian versions but I can’t just buy a standard English Region 2 copy. WTF. I want to give you my money!
