The Atom

I’ve been playing around with animated gifs this weekend; for some reason I’ve got superhero costumes/general wardrobes on the brain and the logical extension of this seemed to be messing around with animated gifs of the Superman and Bats in their pants.

They seemed a little…flat, so this evening I decided to have a crack at another one; as a kid my favourite member of the Justice League was always the Atom (I loved Super Friends episodes featuring the Atom) and I’m definitely happier with this one:

Even if he does have a bit of a wardrobe malfunction.

Long time

So… it’s been a while, but three years is long enough I think. I rather enjoyed having a blog so I’m hoping I still do!

Will it be pretty much as before? Not sure. Probably a fair amount, yes. Though hopefully with a little more of my own thrown into the mix.

The site’s had a new lick of paint (fonts by Hoefler & Co.), it’s pretty simple but that seems sensible so let’s see how we go!

Father of Albanology

Well this is awkward. From Johann Georg von Hahn’s Wikipedia page:

In 1847, Hahn was named Austrian consul in Ioannina. He was transferred to Syros in 1851, and from 1869 was the consul-general in Athens. He is considered the founder of Albanian studies.

Unfortunately the page on Albanian studies it links to names someone else as the father of Albanology. It then lists other famous founders (no sign of Johann). He doesn’t even make the list of important Albanologists :S
